Reference Laboratories The investigation and management of patients with neuroendocrine tumours can be complicated by difficulty in finding reference laboratories capable of performing assays for uncommon neuroendocrine tumour (NET) markers. If your laboratory offers an assay or technique which is not readily available elsewhere and is of value in NET diagnosis, management or research, send the ANTIGR Secretariat (see control bar above) a brief summary. Your information will be considered for listing on this site.
Neuroendocrine Tumour Markers
Chromogranin A 1) Endocrinology Laboratory, Royal Hobart Hospital, Liverpool St Hobart, Tasmania 7000. Sample requirement - 5ml serum, dry ice. 2 week average turnaround time.
Contact ANTIGR if you perform an assay which is uncommon but useful in NET management.
Genetic Testing
Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1 (MEN 1) 1) Endocrinology Laboratory, Royal Hobart Hospital - selective testing for common Tasmanian mutations. Discussion with the laboratory regarding specific requirements is required. Contact Dr V Parameswaran, Chief Scientist, PH (03) 6222 8781. 2) Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. 3) Molecular Genetics Unit, Department of Pathology, Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, Perth.

Contact ANTIGR if you perform an assay which is uncommon but useful in NET management.
Research Interests If your institution has a research focus involving any aspect of neuroendocrine tumour clinical management or basic biology, send the ANTIGR Secretariat (see control bar above) a brief summary and your information can be considered for listing on this site.
Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1 (MEN 1) 1) Department of Endocrinology , Royal Hobart Hospital , GPO Box 1061L, Hobart 7001, Tasmania. PH (03) 6222 8732.
